And Viola Davis is absolutely right. It's a fact that Black women and girls are given far less opportunities than their white counterparts in the areas of education, jobs, pay equity, career experience, and economic & social upward mobility. When you donate online to UYS, you are creating transformative opportunities and experiences for Black girls to define and discover who they are. And your contribution helps us make meaningful strides that effect real change in the lives of Black girls.
Your financial support will not only assist us in planning and executing the 2020 UNIQUELY YOU SUMMIT for 500 girls, but will support the organization as a whole as we continue to provide substantial and life-changing experiences to the 2020 UYS COVER GIRLS (the young faces and voices of the organization).
Here's what your donation provides/covers:
Meals and snacks during the 2020 UNIQUELY YOU SUMMIT weekend for all 500 girls as well as our committed volunteers (not applicable for virtual weekend)
Workbooks and other tangible materials for all 500 girls to reinforce the messages during the Summit weekend
The costs associated with our space needs on the campus of our host university for the Summit weekend (not applicable for virtual weekend)
Round-trip transportation for girls who have no means of getting to the Summit (not applicable for virtual weekend)
Exposure to extraordinary black women who are thought-leaders and experts in their fields
Sisterhood Activities for our 2020 COVER GIRLS
